Fri 26th October

Left St Agnes today, and departed Scilly.

Thurs 25th October - the last full day

24th October

Really starting to get fatigued now after days of traipsing round the islands, carrying too much gear.  I'm feeling I cannot seem to shed the load and that I need everything I've got.  I don't seem to be doing much painting either, partly the fatigue.  Switched to a new small A6 notebook today and decided to work in biro, which has proved instantly enjoyable!

23rd October

Really struggling today - no painting, and not much drawing.  A lot of time just solidly birding and seeing a lot of birds.  My friend Tony Disley finds a Barred Warbler in the Elms and Mallows by the campsite!  It can be an awsome spot there.

Saturday October 20th

Great views of a soaring Sparrowhawk over the Garrison again- there's regularly a female in the pines striking terror among the smaller birds.
Today I moved over to St Agnes.  A Booted Warbler was found there by Paul French this morning.   After a lot of waiting and hoping I had quite good views of the Booted Warbler at 2pm.  I returned again much later and saw the bird at dusk around 6pm; this time it was incredibly active moving around wide stretches of the field.  Often this 'tetchiness' is a sign that the bird is ready to depart.  Indeed the next day it had gone.
