Up at 06.00 to paint the view I saw on the Garrison last night.
Later did a day trip to Bryher to try for the Blackpoll Warbler - completely failed to see it, despite a lot of time spent searching. This bird has been notoriously elusive and I heard that others had made three visits before they saw it. I wasn't prepared to do this - it was today or nothing. It did not show for the entire day, and was not seen there on subeqent days either. [In early November one was found on St Marys - I wonder if it could be the same bird just relocating?].
But still, Bryher is always nice to visit and always feels rare, even when the sun's shining!
